Background
Little Richard wrote "Tutti Frutti" when he was a dishwasher at a Greyhound bus station in 1955 in Macon, Georgia. It was later recorded at J&M Studios in New Orleans after Little Richard slamed on the piano during a break from recording when he was frustrated and performed this song. The original lyrics where thought to be to suggestive for "white audiences" so had to be edited before they could finish up the recording. This became Little Richard's first and most famous single. It is also said that this song and Little Richard himself started the tranformation into rock and roll.
