Personal Opinion
"Tutti Frutti" is a fun, upbeat song that had a major impact on the future styles of music following it. With this piece of work, Little Richard begins to move music from the more euphonic sound in smooth jazz to what is now known as rock and roll. Such aspects of this song that helped with this transition would be Little Richard's raspy voice and loud explosion of noise and excitement. Even though the lyrics of the song do not really make a lot of sense, it is still a lot of fun to sing along to the rhythm and harmony of "bop bopa-a-lu a whop bam boo" or "Tutti frutti, oh rudy" which occurs repetively in this song. The repetive pattern of beats is catchy and, even if you don't know the words, you can still hum along or even make up you own words which is not rare especially for the most popular part, "bop bopa-a-lu a whop bam boo". I enjoy the raspiness of Little Richard's voice as well as the melody of this early rock song.
